Ms. Jennifer

(Lullababies Teacher)

What year did you start at CFK?

I started working in the kitchen in 1991, when I was in 10th grade. After I graduated from ALCS in 1994, I moved to caring for children at CFK. In 1996, I left CFK and became a nanny for 2 children. I also worked in a grocery store deli and was a cashier. In 1998, I returned to Campus For Kids and have been here ever since.

What year did you begin your early childhood profession?

I cared for 2-3 children for the whole Summer of 1992 but I began caring for children full-time in 1994 at CFK. I started out caring for infants and then one year olds. In 1996 I started caring for an infant and a three year old in their home. When I returned to CFK in 1998, I cared for three year olds and four year olds before coming back to caring for infants which is what I do currently.

Tell about your family.

I have a loving husband named Buddy. We got married in April 1996. I have two very caring parents named Jon and Bev, who work at CFK as well. In fact, my mom and I co-teach in the Lullababies class. I have one sibling, a younger brother named Jeffry. He and his wife, Amanda have a son named Thomas.

Who was/is the most influential person in your life? Why?

I can’t choose just one person for this. Of course, my parents have been a huge influence in my life as they raised, cared for, loved and introduced me to Jesus. I really value the relationships I have with them now, as an adult. My husband is very influential because he is my best friend. He takes care of me and loves me as I am. He makes me laugh and helps me not to get stressed out. He is very thoughtful, too.

Do you have any pets?

Currently, I don’t have any pets but I have had many furry, feathery, or scaly friends over the years. I loved them all. I have loved animals in general my whole life. In fact, when I was young, my goal was to be a veterinarian or work at Sea World.

What is your hobby?

I enjoy preserving memories by taking photos. I also love to read.

Share a spiritual experience in your life.

I love to worship God through singing. I find it a beautiful way to connect with my Creator, my Redeemer, and my Friend. To me, worshipping God through music is very much like prayer. In fact, I often sing as I spend time with Him alone. I am also blessed to lead others in worship at church.

What is your favorite scripture?

The latter part of Jeremiah 31:3-“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you.” I know this to be true. No matter what, I KNOW God loves me. I want everyone to accept His gift of love.
