Ms. Bev

(Lullababies Teacher)

What year did you start at CFK?

I started in July 1991. My daughter, Jennifer was attending ALCS and I wanted my son to also attend, so I needed a full-time job to pay for their schooling. I had a lot of experience working with children but only wanted to work at a Christian daycare. I also needed to work around my kids schedules. One day when I was waiting to pick up Jennifer I felt like I should see the CFK director. I asked if there were any positions open, she told me they needed a one year old teacher. I filled out the application and indicated that I’d like to work with infants or toddlers, I was then hired right away and God answered my prayers.

What year did you begin your early childhood profession?

In 1987 I worked at a Christian boarding school and trained 16-18 year olds to work with children. It was a change to switch to infants

Tell about your family.

I have a wonderful husband, Jon, who also works for CFK as a bus and van driver and helps with maintenance and many other things. My daughter, Jennifer, is my co-teacher in the infant room. She’s wonderful to work with. I have a wonderful son-in-law who recently accepted the Lord. I have a son who is in concrete contracting and snow removal. He and my daughter-in-law, Amanda, have an awesome son, my grandson, named Thomas. He is such a joy and lights up my life.

Who was/is the most influential person in your life? Why?

I have to say that my mother, she taught me about Jesus at a young age. I spent most of my time with her as a child. She stayed at home with us kids and taught us so many things. My dad was gentle, loving and hard working.

What is your hobby?

I guess I’d say reading. I love to read Christian fiction, biographies, and The Bible.

Share a spiritual experience in your life.

Back in March 2011 I became very sick overnight. Jon took me to the emergency room and they ran tests and determined that I had Sepsis Cellulitis. It was very serious, so I spent 9-10 days in the hospital. My goal was to get well and return to work full-time. God answered my prayers and I returned full-time at the end of September.

What is your favorite scripture?

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the suffering of this present time are not overtly to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
