Mr. Ben

(Technology Intern)

What year did you start at CFK?

I started in August of 2014, as a student at Abundant Life Christian School just beginning my senior year. Being my first work experience, I couldn’t believe how welcoming the community was. Now I love the Campus for Kids family!

Tell about your family.

My parents and younger brother live here in Madison. My dad works for a software design contracting company, and my mom loves to volunteer and serve others. I owe so much to my family and I am incredibly grateful to have grown up in a wonderful, nurturing environment.

Who was/is the most influential person in your life? Why?

A couple of my high school teachers have really impacted my life. I appreciate the relationships formed with them and the ways they helped me grow. I would not be where I am today in my walk with the Lord if it weren’t for these mentors.

Do you have any pets?

Not right now. Someday I would like to have a turtle that crawls around my desk while I’m working and keeps me company!

What is your hobby?

Computers! I have been so blessed to be able to pursue what I really enjoy while working at Campus for Kids. I’ve also gained so much valuable experience. I am currently majoring in Computer Science at Cedarville University.

Share a spiritual experience in your life.

Although I was raised in Christian circles and thoroughly saturated with Bible-talk, the Lord really got a hold of my life during my junior year of high school. It took some pretty severe circumstances to “wake me up,” but that was when I began seeking truth. Now that I am attending Cedarville University, I feel that God has planted me in a place where I am really able to flourish and grow spiritually.

What is your favorite scripture?

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
For me, this is the most encouraging promise in God’s Word. I know that God has started a work in my life, but it sure isn’t finished yet! Yet He has promised that He will finish what he started with me, and that gives me great hope.
